There are over 30 million sub-Sharaan Africans with HIV/AIDS.  If the roll-out of Anti-Retroviral Drugs (AVRs) is not successful, these will mosthly die and the disease will continue to spread with the expected personal, social and economic cost.

The Realta Global AIDS Foundation (REALTA) was established in 2004 to support the prevention, treatment and care of poverty-related communicable disease in sub-Shaaran Africa.

In November 2006 Pfizer & Realta led a delagation comprising a mixture of health professionals, entrepreneurs and supporters to visit the key institutions and partner programmes in Uganda.  The idea being to continue to to work on delivering a changed reality on the ground for some of Ugand's neediest citizents.
